Clinical Practice & Academia

Shilpi began her career as a Speech Pathologist in teaching hospitals in Sydney and London, before moving into clinical education and lecturing in Communication Sciences at the University of Sydney. She holds a Master's degree in Communication Science and Disorders.

Corporate Learning & Development

Transitioning to corporate training, Shilpi specialised in leadership, communication, and presentation skills — gaining deep insight into corporate environments. She went on to hold senior learning and organisational development roles at the Australian Securities Exchange and Fairfax Media (now Nine Entertainment), leading work across leadership development, talent management, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and major change initiatives.

Ocean Consulting Partners

In 2014, with over 10 years of experience in leadership and team development, Shilpi founded Ocean Consulting. She works as a consultant, facilitator, and executive coach — recognised for her warm, composed approach and constructive challenge that fosters genuine growth. She is an associate with Melbourne Business School Executive Education and the only Australian faculty member at Corentus, a US-based leadership and team development organisation.
