After spending several years in senior learning and organisational development roles, I found myself yearning to get back to what I’m passionate about—supporting leaders to achieve individual, team and organisational growth and change.
So, in 2014 I founded Ocean Consulting. Starting my own business put me back on the path of individual and team coaching. It also gave me the flexibility to focus on my other great passion – raising my two beautiful sons.
I believe that great leaders know how to harness the collective intelligence of their teams, but I also know it’s no easy task. That’s why I’m committed to supporting leaders to navigate the challenges of leadership, in a constantly changing work environment.
My love of lifelong learning and entrepreneurial spirit keeps me on the lookout for fresh insights and approaches that help leaders grow and change. I also invest extensively in my own development so that I can create the best, evidence-based solutions for my clients.
My expertise spans leadership development, team effectiveness, change management, personal branding, and executive presence. I have worked across public, private, and non-profit sectors, delivering a pragmatic, commercially focused approach that drives lasting impact for leaders and their organizations.
Experience
I believe in following career passions, which has led me down diverse paths, but three things have always shaped my journey: lifelong learning, focus on communication, and developing others.
I began my career as a Speech Pathologist, working in teaching hospitals in Sydney and London. This was followed by a role as a clinical educator and lecturer in Communication Sciences at the University of Sydney. During that time I also completed a Master's in Communication Science and Disorders with a focus on clinical supervisory styles.
Transitioning from academia, I became a corporate trainer specialising in leadership, communication, and presentation skills. This role opened up new insights for me into the corporate world.
Over the following years, I held senior roles in learning and organizational development at companies such as the Australian Securities Exchange and Fairfax Media (now Nine Entertainment). My responsibilities included leadership development, sales and editorial capability building, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and talent and performance management. I also helped lead major change projects, including activity-based working, significant IT rollouts, and business transformation.
In 2014, I founded Ocean Consulting, at the time bringing over 10 years of experience in leadership and team development. As a consultant, facilitator, and executive coach, I’m recognized for my warm, composed style and my ability to challenge clients constructively to foster growth and change.
I’m also an Associate with Melbourne Business School, Executive Education, and the only Australian faculty member at Corentus, a US-based firm focused on leadership and team development.
